Since the days of Windows XP, Windows offered shutdown options directly from the Start menu. Windows 11 is no different.

Step 1: Open the Start menu by clicking the Start button on the taskbar or by pressing the Windows logo key on the keyboard.

Step 2: Click the power icon and then select the option to shut down, restart, hibernate, or sleep.

Use the Win + X menu to shut down, restart, suspend or hibernate Windows 11

Step 1: Make a the right button of the mouse on the Start button on the taskbar or press the Windows + X keys.

Step 2: Click / select the Shut down or log out and then select / click the Logout, Shutdown, Suspend, Hibernate, Restart, or Shutdown option.

Shut down, restart, hibernate or suspend Windows 11 from the desktop

Step 1: Minimize all applications or just use the Windows + D hotkey to quickly view the desktop.

Step 2: Press simultaneously Alt + F4 keys to open the following dialog box.

Step 3: Select Hibernate, Shut Down, Restart, or Suspend from the drop-down menu and click the okay button.

Shut down, restart, hibernate, or suspend Windows 11 from the login screen

If you have locked your computer, you do not need to log in again and visit the desktop to shut down, restart, hibernate, or suspend your computer. You can also do it from the login screen.

NOTE: When on the lock screen, press the Enter key or click an empty spot on the lock screen to see the login screen.

Step 1: When you are at the login screen, click the power icon located at the bottom right of the screen, and then select the Shut down, Restart, Suspend, or Hibernate option.
